Alan O'Flaherty - Knocklyon Network

Alan O’Flaherty

Alan is the man behind Dodder Valley Park’s “Cycling without Age” which was officially launched recently. He had an idea, and from start to finish he found a way to make this a reality.

His hard work and drive has made Dodder Valley Park accessible to those who, because of age or infirmity, would otherwise miss out on this beautiful amenity.

Gabriel Curtis - Knocklyon Network

Gabriel Curtis

Gabriel has been behind the development and strength of Woodstown Residents’ Association from the beginning. Gabriel has been instrumental in organising a youth section in his community.

Together with his team, he initiates community celebrations at Christmas, Easter and summer. They have their own grass cutters and maintain the estate to a very high standard. Gabriel has been working for his community for years

Linda Roberts - Knocklyon Network

Linda Roberts

Linda is the heart and soul of the community in Stocking Wood. She has brought young and old together to create a wonderful, friendly and inviting atmosphere in the community.

She is always organising fun activities for all to get involved with, from Easter hunts and summer BBQs to Halloween workshops and Santa’s grottos. She also had a defibrillator installed and built a team of first responders.

Marion Sweetman - Knocklyon Network

Marion Sweetman

Marion is a founding member of the Knocklyon Women’s Group. She was instrumental in getting their local book published recently. She is always courteous helpful and a great heroine in our community.

Marion is currently Secretary of the Knocklyon Women’s Group and has also been secretary of Lansdowne Residents Association for many years and a very active member of our community.

Ruth Kelly - Knocklyon Network

Ruth Kelly

Ruth has been involved in the Parish of Knocklyon for many years. She organises the Folk Choir as musician, arranger and sometimes singer. She is involved in so many of the music arrangements for St Colmcille’s Parish Church. Ruth is there for many of the events like Easter, Christmas etc.

She was instrumental in the performing of the Easter Musical Passion, a most popular event every year. Ruth is also the music teacher in St Colmcille’s Community School and is heavily involved in organising all things musical in the school from classes, to stage performances of musicals. 

Tracy Griffen - Knocklyon Network

Tracy Griffin

Tracy supports local families in the area who are short of food and sometimes clothing. She goes out of her way, along with Sue, to ensure no family goes hungry.

Tracy has a busy family life but always finds the time to help those in need. She appeals to the wider community to support the Food Bank in these hard times through the Ballycullen Food Bank.
