The story began in April 2010, when Kevin t and Kevin d opened mayfield eatery & deli on terenure road north. Both Kevins having long term restaurant experience – from varying sides – one as chef and the other front of house, decided to put their experience to life by opening a local eatery. Positioned in the characterful building which was once a local butcher shop. they carefully held onto the original features of the old tiled walls & floors and even a functioning cold room & dressed it up with vintage inspired bric-o-brac. With just a few tables and chairs & a deli counter full to the brim of wholesome good food, it wasn’t long before queues were forming and food was flying out the door.

The Speaker Connolly is a Pub, Restaurant and Bar situated on the Firhouse Road, Dublin 24.

The Speaker Conolly Pub was opened in 1985 by the coming together of two publicans James Murphy and Harry Morton. An instant hit with the locals the Speaker has always enjoyed support from the local and wider community. Never afraid to change the Speaker was re-modelled in the 90’s and since has gone from strength to strength. In 2006 the Speaker started serving bar food with a difference, wanting to stand out from the crowd the speaker took a whole new approach to traditional “bar food” and started serving restaurant standard food in the cosy traditional pub setting.
