The Knocklyon Network is a local community group with not-for-profit status that was formed for the people and by the people of Knocklyon. The group meets every Tuesday in the Iona Centre, Knocklyon, Dublin 16.
The Knocklyon Network aims to provide a safe and informative environment for local people to network, share skills and experiences. We aspire to build a sustainable network that can continue to grow and develop for the benefit of everyone.
The Knocklyon Network wants and encourages people to come share their ideas and knowledge so that, together, we can create a more inclusive, vibrant community.
Curtain’s Up is a dedicated Speech & Drama School in Knocklyon.
Sarah-Jayne Quigley holds a BA hons degree in Drama and Sociology from Trinity College Dublin and a BA hons in Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, as well as a Licentiate Diploma from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama.
My aim is to provide small class sizes and individual attention to allow students to flourish and promote confidence.
The Speech & Drama class is a place where individuals feel safe and are free to express themselves in a structured environment.
Imagination and creativity are praised and encouraged. I set high standards for my pupils and I always spur them to go that little bit further and work that little bit harder.
The drama class allows the freedom to learn, experiment and play.
The Speech & Drama class should be a place where everybody is equal and each member can express themselves without fear.
Our focus in Term One is on poetry and scripted performance, in preparation for the Irish Board of Speech & Drama exams. I’m delighted to say that last year, all students took part in the exams and did extremely well!
Term Two will focus on improvisation, communication, games, creative drama, vocal training, confidence building, mime and imagination.

You own this amazing machine, it can do buttonholes, has a free arm to help you to take up your jeans, blind stitch, has a zipper foot and twelve embroidery stitches.
The day you brought it home you were so excited, you unpacked your treasure, threaded it up and made up a cushion cover, Joy!, but were having a little difficulty inserting the zip and why was the thread knotting now – it was ok a minute ago!
Sometimes you just need a bit of coaching.
Contact Maeve at 086 8583689 for guidence in solving the mysteries of sewing with a machine.
